Dear Birth Mother,

We are Lynn and Bill Smith, a bi-racial Christian couple who would be extremely honored and blessed to be selected as the parents of your child. As we sat down to write this letter, we were overwhelmed in thinking of its importance to you. We will try to be brief in painting a picture of our lives and the joy and love that we believe your child would experience sharing life with us.

Both of us waited for the perfect mate. In God’s timing, we met seven years ago and married after two years of dating. We have a wonderful, loving marriage. It was worth the wait! We love to have fun and we spend most of our time together. We like traveling, sightseeing, taking long walks at the lake by our home, skiing, riding bicycles, reading, watching movies and hanging out with friends. (Our favorite children’s book, as a couple, is, “Go Dog Go” by Dr. Seuss. When we were dating we used to go to Borders and read this book together – while people stared at us, reading in the children’s section. LOL!) After we married we tried to have children and were saddened to learn that was not possible for us. So, we decided to build our family through adoption.

Lynn says about Bill: Bill is a wonderful husband! He is intelligent, kind, adventurous, loving and handsome with amazing blue eyes! What I like most about him is how much he genuinely loves and cares for me. He is my best friend and I adore him. He holds my hand, opens doors for me and treats me with respect. He has a terrific sense of humor and makes me laugh every day. I enjoy it when he plays his guitar and sings. He even wrote a beautiful song for me called “Your Smile.” Bill is affectionate and patient and will make an excellent father. Children and dogs are really drawn to him. He gets down to their level and plays with them.

Bill says about Lynn: Before we were married I wrote Lynn a poem called, “101 Things I Like About You.” I could have written many more… Lynn is my best friend; my soul mate. She is an extremely compassionate, generous and caring person. She gives of herself all of the time. She is sweet and very even tempered with a very creative and helpful nature. I owe much of my success in ministry to her. She has a great passion and desire to be a mother. Her nurturing spirit has helped many and will be a great blessing to her children. I think she is the most beautiful girl in the world.

We place a high value on education. Bill is the Senior Pastor at a wonderful church. He is well on his way to completing a Master of Divinity in Practical Theology. Lynn currently teaches 1st and 2nd grade at a Christian School. She also has a doctorate in Chiropractic which she practices on a limited basis. We plan for Lynn to be a stay at home mom when we are blessed with a child.

We also place a high value on relationships and caring for people. Evidence of this is seen in our professions as pastor, teacher and doctor. After our relationship with God, we greatly value our many family members and friends. They are all praying and encouraging us in the adoption process. They will make a wonderful support system for us in raising a child.

We have a beautiful cottage style, four bedroom home, nestled on three acres of wooded land. There is plenty of beautiful and safe outdoor space to play. Our home is in a unique location in a semi rural area of Western Pennsylvania, which includes many farms. However, our home is only 2 miles from a large shopping mall and only 45 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Our home is a place of safety, comfort, security and most of all, love. From the windows of our home, your child will be able to watch a doe and her fawns stop for a snack or many other mall animals and multi-colored birds that play near by. Sometimes, we joke with each other that we live in a scene from a Disney animated movie.

We have an adorable little three pound Chihuahua named Bailey. Children and adults love to play with her.

We promise that your child will be provided for financially, emotionally and with educational opportunities to reach his or her full potential and dreams. Above all, we will provide a home full of unconditional love and laughter, founded on strong faith and values.
